FAQS

Questions about what it’s like to work together?

Here are some of the most common questions I get from families about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, contact me.

  • Marriage and family therapy addresses the behaviors of all family members and the way these behaviors affect not only individuals but also relationships between family members and the family unit as a whole. It aims to help individuals and couples improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationships.

  • I am excited to offer my patients an alternative option for therapy from the comfort and privacy of their home. Utilizing a secure and confidential video conferencing through a computer, tablet, or smartphone, I will work one-on-one with you to meet your therapy goals.

  • I live in Alabama and can treat Alabama residents in person as well as through Telehealth. However, I am also licensed in Tennessee and can see Tennessee residents via Telehealth.

  • Depending on the type of service, a 50 minute session ranges from $140-$150.

  • I do not take insurance at this time. However, I do offer sliding scale rates based on a client’s income as needed. I can also provide a Superbill for you to send into insurance for possible reimbursement if you have out of network benefits.

  • During your first appointment, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding your unique needs. This initial session typically involves discussing your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. We’ll also go over any questions you might have about the therapy process.

  • My goal is to "work myself out of job," meaning, I want to get what you need from the therapeutic process and move forward on your own feeling confident. The number of sessions varies, but my average client comes between 8-12 sessions. Some clients prefer a maintenance phase after reaching their goals, coming once a month.

  • I provide therapy services to individuals and couples, addressing a wide range of issues such as anxiety, relationship issues, parental stress, grief, pre-marital therapy, and ____ I am also Level 1 trained in the Gottman Method, an evidence-based practice for couples therapy, as well as in Prepare-Enrich, used a lot with pre-marital couples.
